A Powerful Design

The Schock 34 PC is a Nelson/Marek design with excellent speed potential and exceptional handling characteristics has a sleek and powerful hull shape with minimum wetted surface and a fine entry. The flare of the hull increases the boat's stability as it heels going to weather, and the beamy aft section provides the same stability as she heads downwind. The rudder and keel are state-of-the-art elliptical designs... A winged keel (the patented Hydrokeel) is available as an option where a more shallow keel os preferred. The hull form and total weight are carefully balanced by a masthead sail plan with dimensions calculated to provide good speed and easy handling. A study double spreader configuration eliminates the need for bothersome checkstays and running backs, and a short "J" measurement means smaller headsails and less work. An "E" of 13.6 provides an long boom which carries a big mainsail for easy cruising under the main alone.

The hand-laminated balsa core deck was carefully engineered for easy, comfortable cruising. Wide, flat side decks provide good footing; a low-profile cabin leaves excellent visibility; and a spacious T-shaped cockpit offers comfortable seating and plenty of space for a large wheel.
