Accommodations Plus

Making a cruising interior function in 23 feet is tricky business. In order to avoid the "dollhouse" effect often caused by putting too much into too little, the W.D.Schock corporation has engineered a very special multi-purpose interior for the Schock 23. It is a spacious two-cabin interior arrangement with two extra-long bunks running for and aft in the main cabin and a large vee-berth forward. To this roomy layout we have added a clever galley unit that slides aft to a storage space under the cockpit seat and forward to a spot convenient for the cook. The unit is equipped with a sink, a water pump, and platform for a one-burner stove. Cold storage is provided by a large ice chest that doubles as a companionway step. And a hinged drop leaf table folds down from the bulkhead to provide a comfortable dinette. A gentle push on the galley unit and a simple folding of the table instantly converts this cozy dining place into roomy main cabin.

The head compartment of the Schock 23 is isolated forward of the main bulkhead and has its own vanity and wash basin. The interior is beautifully appointed with natural teak bulkheads and a teal and holly sole. Designer fabrics, both practical and attractive, are used throughout.

Quality Construction

The keel on the Schock 23 is a patented Hydrokeel ... a wing keel that draws just 35 inches and weights approximately 1100 pounds. Its state-of-the-art design gives good lift to weather and excellent stability on all points of sail.

Top of the list of special cruising amenities is a large pop-top which can be easily adjusted to increase headroom below to a full six feet. For good ventilation, the cabin has been equipped with four opening ports, a large forward hatch, and a sliding main hatch. The electrical system on the Schock 23 includes a 12-volt battery, running lights, a bow light, and cabin lights. There are storage lockers beneath each of the bunks and also in each cockpit seat. A covered anchor well has been molded into the foredeck. And a special motor mount has been designed into the cut-away transom for easy installation of the outboard engine and convenient access while under power. Schock even offers a custom boarding ladder as an option.

You will be amazed to the care taken in the designing, engineering, and building of this remarkable 23-foot trailerable performance cruiser. Your will also be delighted with the low entry level price!
